It was truly an honor and privilege for us to celebrate the Community Resource Center’s 3rd Anniversary on May 14th. We recognize that the biggest challenge facing the community is the lack of access to resources for housing, health, and education. Since our incorporation in 2021, we have worked tirelessly to improve conditions in the minority communities of Scott County.

Over the past year, we have assisted hundreds of families, students, and community members in accessing these crucial services and opportunities. Through our After School/Homework Help Program, Financial Literacy Trainings, Community Cohorts, Public Safety Meetings, Business Classes, and Workforce Development programs, we have made significant strides.

We couldn’t have accomplished this without our partners, including Scott County, Carver County, Launch Ministry, Mi Casa, Dakota County, Met Council, CDA, Allina Health, Shakopee Public Schools, Shakopee Chamber of Commerce, FRC, and our local nonprofit organizations partner. Special thanks also go to our staff, board members, and community leaders. Without all of us working together and striving to accomplish the goals we set during the pandemic, none of this would have been possible!

Finally, I’d like to thank Hamsa Warfa (Senior Advisor to the US State Department), our wonderful guest speakers, everyone who attended our anniversary dinner, and Somali Network TV. We look forward to many more years of assisting our wonderful communities and fighting for financial, educational, and housing equality.
